**How to learn Math Tables **

**1. Commutative property **

Rule 1 for addition a + b = b + a

it means 5 + 3 = 3 + 5

Rule 2 for multiplication ab = ba

it means 3 X 5 = 5 X 3

2. **2 X pattern**

2× Pattern – is just repetition the number. The same as addition the number to itself.

2 X 2 = 4

4 X 2 = 8

6 X 2 = 12

3**. 5× pattern **

5× pattern – has a pattern: 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. It ends in either 0 or 5.

4.** 9 X pattern **

9 X 1 = 9

9 X 2 =** 1 8**

9 X 3 = **2 7**

9 X 4 = **3 6**

9 X 5 =** 4 5**

9 X 6 = **5** **4**

9 X 7 =** 6** **3**

9 X 8 = **7**** 2**

9 X 9 =** 8** **1**

9 X 10 = 90

9 X 1 = | 9 | |
---|---|---|

9 X 2 = | 1 | 8 |

9 X 3 = | 2 | 7 |

9 X 4 = | 3 | 6 |

9 X 5 = | 4 | 5 |

9 X 6 = | 5 | 4 |

9 X 7 = | 6 | 3 |

9 X 8 = | 7 | 2 |

9 X 9 = | 8 | 1 |

9 X 10 = | 90 |

5.**10×pattern**

10×pattern is maybe the easiest of them all. only put a zero after it.

10 X 2 = 20

10 X 4 = 40

10 X 5 = 50

6**.11 X pattern**

11 X pattern – 11× is mostly easy:

11×2 = 22

11×3 = 33

7**.Two digit number multiplication trick**

**A) 1st example**

1st step

1 **2** X **2** = __ **4**

= 2 X 2 = 4

**2nd step**

**1** 2 X** 2** =** 2**__

1 X 2 = 2

Answer : **1 2 X 2 = 24**

**B) 2nd Example**

### 4 2 X 2 1 = 8 _ 2

1) 4 X 2 = 8

2) 2 X 1 = 2

### 4 2 X 2 1 =

1) 4 X 1 = 4

2) 2 X 2 = 4

4 + 4 = 8

**Answer is 42 X 21 = 882**
